6. When you are happy with all the information you have entered then click on the add button. You will then see a page saying you have successfully added your organisation details. It will take up to 24 hours from entering your details to see them on our search pages whilst we read the content to see if it is suitable for our site.
7. You must now enter at least one activity for your details to be shown on our search pages.

If you would prefer to print out a paper based form to fill in your registration, download it here.

This requires the adobe acrobat reader. If you do not have this you can download it here free of charge.

Alternatively, if these options are unsuitable, request our pre-printed form by emailing us, supplying your postal address and we will be happy to send it to you.

Browsing the Activities

1. Our browse page is exactly that, for people that want to just browse through the activities that are registered with us.
2. It is a complete list which is initially presented in Organisation name sequence. This can be changed to list in activity description sequence by clicking on the "click here to list by activity" link. You can return to the organisation list by clicking on the "click here to list by organisation name" link.
3. The activities are listed 10 to a page. You are shown at the top and bottom of each list where you are in the records being displayed i.e. Displaying Records 11 to 20 of 40. You can change from one page to the next by clicking on the "Next Page" and "Previous Page" links found at the top and bottom of each page. If there is not a next page or previous page then this link will not be shown. There are also quick links to "first page" and "last page" which obviously go to the first or last pages.
4. For each activity, we display in the list their activity description, organisation name and some notes. Beneath the activity description will be a number of icons which help describe the type of activity. The ones included will vary from activity to activity as they are specific to each one. To see the type of facility they depict move your mouse over it and a short description will appear for each one. For your convenience there is also an activity key at the bottom of each page. Beneath the icons is the age suitability and frequency of the activity and if it is only being held on a certain date then the event start and end dates. Beneath the organisation name is a link to show all activities for this organisation. This will bring up a page showing everything this organisation has registered with us. You can click on any of the activity descriptions in the list to see that specific activity in detail, alternatively, return to your original list with the link at the top of the page.

Searching for an Activity

1. To search for an activity you must enter at least one item of search information. This could be a piece of text or an age or one of the check boxes. If you don't an error message will display and you will need to return to the search page to try again. You can enter as much or as little as you want in the search fields, bearing in mind the more you enter, the less activities you will have returned, alternatively the less you enter the more activities you will have to look through.
2. If you enter any text in the search for box this will be compared against the organisation names, full address and postcode and the activity description. This search is not case sensitive, therefore it will not matter if you include upper or lower case in the text you enter. You can use this to search for a name of an activity i.e. gym will list any activities with gym in the name, or a town or village i.e. poole will list any activities in the poole area, however, this may also list activities that have poole in their name ! or you could enter part of a postcode i.e. DT11 will list any activities in the DT11 postal area. You may also enter mutliple words here, i.e. gym club however, it will only list activities that have both of the words in that order.
3. You may search for activities for a specific age. However it will default to include all ages. We have included an antenatal age for all of those mum's to be that would like to know about facilities available whilst they are pregnant.
4. The check boxes each represent a different way of describing the particular activity or service i.e. indoor for activities that are primarily indoor, music for activities involving music etc. See our activity key for a full description of all of these check boxes. You may check as many of these as you want to search for or you feel will be relevant to the type of activity you are looking for.
5. You can now choose between the search checking to find activities where any of your criteria is correct or if all of the criteria is correct. The default is for any of it to be correct. If you choose for any of it to be correct it will list all activities with any of the criteria e.g. if you enter gym in the search text box and then check the indoor box you will get a list of all activities that either contain gym in the name, address etc or are indoor. This has the potential to list many activities. If you choose for all of it to be correct it will list all activities where all of the criteria is correct e.g. if you enter gym in the search text box and then check the indoor box you will get a list of all activities where gym is contained in the name, address etc and are indoor. This will potentially list fewer activities. As a guide if you are not sure of the type of activity you are looking for then we would recommend leaving it as any of it to be correct, however, if you have very specific requirements then choose the all of it option.
8. If you reach an activity that you think looks interesting you can click on the link on the activity description to see further details. You can return from the details page to continue to browse the list. Click for more detailed help on the activity detail page. Beneath the organisation name is a link to show all activities for this organisation. This will bring up a page showing everything this organisation has registered with us. You can click on any of the activity descriptions in the list to see that specific activity in detail, alternatively, return to your original list with the link at the top of the page.
9. If you don't find the activity you are looking for or your search does not list any activities you can return to enter a new search using the links at the top and bottom of the page.
10. For your information we are hoping to extend the search page to include a search for a specific area using postcodes. Watch this space!

Diary and Favourites

1. This is for parents who wish to keep a reminder about one-off events or specific organisations. Parents can create a login using their email address. Once this has been created you will have the ability to add one-off events to your personal diary at the click of the button. You may also add any organisations to your favourites list, this will give you a way to see a summary of that organisation and a list of all their activities with one click. When you first login you will be taken to your diary and favourites page. This will list anything you have already added. You can then navigate the site as normal using the appropriate links.
2. You can add to your diary and favourites from almost anywhere in ActivityKidz, but you must be logged in to do it. Once you have logged in you can add to your diary and favourites by clicking on the appropriate links (add to Personal Diary or add to Favourites). Once you have added an event to your diary or an organisation to your favourites it will appear with a page diary or a heart symbol alongside the activity description or organisation name. You can also click on these symbols as a quick link to your diary and favourites page. You can only add activities that have specified dates to your diary (i.e. one-off events) as your diary will only hold specific dates. If you wish for a less specific reminder you can add an organisation to your favourites. This will then give you a link to all the activities of that organisation without searching.
3. If you nolonger wish for an event or organisation to appear in your diary and favourites you may remove it by going to your diary and favourites page and clicking on the appropriate delete button on the right handside of the page. If you remove one by mistake you cannot undo the delete, however, you are more than welcome to re-add it from any of the normal pages.
